About Guru Tejaswini Sathe
TANZ Kathak Academy is headed by Nrutyalankar Smt. Tejaswini Sathe. Tejaswini is a senior disciple and daughter-in-law of Guru Pandita Maneeshatai Sathe, and holds masters degrees in dance from University of Pune and Bharati Vidyapeeth.
Bestowed with natural beauty, talent and grace, Tejaswini Sathe is an accomplished Kathak dancer whose beauty complements her dance and makes her performances superbly stunning. Her emphasis is on perfection, practice & preparation. Her ability to effortlessly move from one character to another in splits of seconds has helped her in winning over the critics and rasikas. Subtle acting, elegant footwork, and graceful movements are some of the fine hallmarks of her performance. A magnetic stage presence and complete mastery of technical nuances makes her a rare artist who can take Kathak to a new level.
Tejaswini is a proud recipient of the coveted ‘Singarmani’ award. She is also an A-graded artist for Doordarshan, the Indian TV channel. In India, she has performed in noted dance festivals like Ganesh Festival (Pune), Aura Festival (Aurangabad), Ganwardhan Music Conference (Pune), Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Mahotsava (Mumbai), Kalka Bindadeen Mahotsava (Delhi), Swami Haridas Sangeet Sammelan (Mumbai), Cuttack Mahotsav (Orissa), Noida Sankrutik Mahotsav (Delhi), Tirupati festival(Tirupati), Khajuraho Dance Festival (Khajuraho) ,the opening of Rashtriya Sanskrutik Mahotsava 2023 (Mumbai) and of the G20 Summit at Savitribai Phule Pune University, (Pune) to name a few. She was appointed as one of the lead choreographers by the Cultural Ministry of India for the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in 2022 during the celebrations of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Government Of India.
She has performed with her Guru Pandita Maneesha tai Sathe all over India as well as in USA and Japan for fifteen years. Starting 2019, Tejaswini started her own sojourns with her senior students and have had a successful dance tour in 5 countries of Europe (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria) in 2019, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Germany, and Bahrain in 2022, and now tours across Europe every year in the months of August and September along with her troupe. She has performed at numerous prestigious festivals and most importantly has performed at the Indian Embassy of Berlin, Hague, Nur-Sultan and others. Tanz Kathak Academy now has a significantly rising student base in Germany that opts for distance learning opportunities.
Today, Tejaswini Sathe is one of the most sought-after artists in the major National and International scenario of Classical Dance. Mrs. Tejaswini Sathe is a role model for young aspiring dancers. Harmonizing a graceful balance between work-life and family, she has been raising a wonderful family with two children while spreading joy of her profession around the world. Inspired from their guru, many of her students have now started to pursue dance as career.
